What is National Night Out?

National Night Out is a crime prevention event. Most campgrounds include outdoor activities providing ample entertainment for the duration of your stay including beaches, fishing docks, hiking trails, nature programs, etc... Does the star really mean anything?

Today I wandered around our office in search of something sweet and when I saw an orange tootsie pop, my eyes lit up like the Fourth of July. I quickly grabbed one and scampered off to my desk like a child that just found the last treat and didn't want to share. I took the wrapper off and I saw it, the infamous star on the outside of my wrapper. I was instantly brought back to my childhood days of begging my parents for money, so I could walk down to the gas station for a summer treat with my friends. That moment you found the star, the moment you felt like the Queen or King of the world (image below to show true excitement).
