This program is designed to highlight outstanding employers in the region while offering valuable insights into the practices that help organizations attract and retain top talent. Participating companies complete a comprehensive 40-question survey administered by Personnel Dynamics Consulting of Florida. The survey evaluates key areas such as employee turnover, growth rate, internal promotions, employee feedback, injury rates, diversity in leadership, benefit offerings, training investments, paid time off, and compensation increases. Custom Alarm continues to stand out among its peers, earning top marks in several critical areas. The company was particularly noted for its robust investment in employee development — including the number of employees trained, the hours and financial resources dedicated to training, and the overall quality of its employee benefits package. Custom Alarm CEO Melissa Brinkman shared,* "Being recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in SE Minnesota for the ninth year in a row is a true testament to the strength of our culture and the incredible people who make up our team. At Custom Alarm, we are intentional about creating an environment where our employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow. We remain committed to providing competitive benefits, meaningful career opportunities, and a workplace where people are proud to contribute. This award reflects our shared dedication and reinforces our goal of being the employer of choice in our region.* As Custom Alarm celebrates nearly a decade of this distinction, it remains focused on cultivating a workplace culture that fosters innovation, well-being, and continued success.
