The patient wander system combines FM signal processing with microprocessor technology to locate patients in a hospital or retirement home community. Residents entering a protected area trigger a monitor to engage or disengage a magnetic door lock and secure the exit or sound an alarm to alert staff. Their ID monitors display multiple patients and the time of the alarms. They can then track patients on-screen as they move throughout the facility with either number or name recognition. They also have the ability to incorporate asset location identification to the system to track high usage devices and their exact locations. They can generate reports on patient and asset activity on a monthly, daily or hourly basis. The tracking system can be configured for a single patient in an area up to 10,000 locations.
